L\u2019ACADEMIA EUROPAEA (AE)<\/strong>, fundada l\u2019any 1988, \u00e9s una associaci\u00f3 internacional no governamental que actua com a acad\u00e8mia. Els seus membres, actualment m\u00e9s de 5.500, s\u00f3n cient\u00edfics i estudiosos (entre els quals hi ha 80 Premis Nobel) que promouen, de manera col\u00b7lectiva, la recerca, l\u2019aprenentatge i l\u2019educaci\u00f3 en tots els \u00e0mbits del coneixement, incloses les ci\u00e8ncies f\u00edsiques i la tecnologia, les ci\u00e8ncies biol\u00f2giques i la medicina, les matem\u00e0tiques, les lletres i les humanitats, les ci\u00e8ncies socials i cognitives, l\u2019economia i el dret. L\u2019AE s\u2019estructura en quatre categories (Arts i Humanitats, Ci\u00e8ncies socials i altres de relacionades, Ci\u00e8ncies exactes i Ci\u00e8ncies de la vida), cadascuna amb diverses seccions tem\u00e0tiques els membres de les quals s\u2019assignen mitjan\u00e7ant un proc\u00e9s electoral. Des del 2025, el president de l\u2019Academia Europaea \u00e9s el canadenc Donal Bruce Dingwell, geocient\u00edfic, director del Departament de Ci\u00e8ncies de la Terra i Medi Ambient i Ordinarius de Mineralogia i Petrologia de la Universitat Ludwig Maximilian de M\u00fanic.<\/p>\n L\u2019Academia Europaea opera a trav\u00e9s d\u2019una xarxa regional de hubs de coneixement ubicats a Barcelona, Bergen, Budapest, Bucharest, M\u00fanic, Tbilissi i Wroclaw. per promoure la cultura cient\u00edfica, les carreres cient\u00edfiques i tecnol\u00f2giques i les relacions i l\u2019emprenedoria en els \u00e0mbits p\u00fablics i privats en aquests camps. La seva recerca se centra a entendre la diversitat del genoma hum\u00e0 i la manera com la selecci\u00f3 natural ha modelat l\u2019evoluci\u00f3 a trav\u00e9s de la seva empremta en el genoma. Els seus treballs han implicat poblacions d\u2019arreu del m\u00f3n i ha fet estades de recerca a Cambridge (Regne Unit), el Jap\u00f3 i Stanford (Estats Units).<\/p>\n El Dr. Bertranpetit \u00e9s l\u2019autor de m\u00e9s de 320 articles originals i ha ocupat c\u00e0rrecs cient\u00edfics i administratius importants, inclosos els de vicerector de Pol\u00edtica Cient\u00edfica de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra, de 1999 a 2001; director del Centro Nacional de Genotipado de Espa\u00f1a (CeGen), de 2004 a 2011, i director de la Instituci\u00f3 Catalana de Recerca i Estudis Avan\u00e7ats (ICREA), de 2007 a 2015.
